When we were called in to help update this Green Hills kitchen for a busy physician-professor duo, their children were largely out of the house. This was our second remodel for them in addition to multiple smaller projects.
The space was transformed by removing the wall between the kitchen and sitting room. The plan called for reconfiguring the kitchen layout, building all-new cabinets, and replacing the laundry room – which was relocated – with a butler’s pantry.
Glazed cabinets with wainscoting, glass-tile backsplash in silver medley, and Cambria quartz countertops in Oxwich Green created a refined, sophisticated look. Upper cabinets crowned with molding went to the ceiling and featured frosted glass with interior lighting. A new favorite amenity was the plumbed-in Keurig coffeemaker.
