Over the years, we had completed a few projects for this client. So, when they needed to undertake a larger addition, they came to us. This particular master bathroom addition required more research and planning than a typical master bath, due to the clients needs to meet ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements to allow comfortable use of the shower, toilet, and sink from a wheelchair.
We had met these requirements in bathrooms before, but this project provided an opportunity to blend form and function. Special features included the curb-less tiled shower with decorative accents, additional grab bars through out, and adjusted heights on fixtures.
The project also included re-framing and moving the back deck level with the adjacent bathroom so the outdoors could be easily accessed.
We were thrilled with the outcome and the ability to provide modern accessibility to an over 100 year old home which our clients can continue to use and love for many years.
