Belmont-Hillsboro Remodel
This historic Craftsman-style bungalow had great bones, but the finishes were outdated and the space felt jumbled. The owner, a successful entrepreneur, challenged us with creating a modern, flowing interior while preserving the past.
During the process, we came across startling discoveries, including an old roof buried inside a ceiling and a deficient beam holding up the second floor.
The house looked like a war zone once we tore into it. But, by borrowing space here and there, hiding an engineered beam in the ceiling and rearranging walls, the disarray eventually dissipated to reveal a beautiful, historic yet modern home.
