Temple Preschool Outdoor Learning Playscape
It was a huge honor to have donated our services to The Temple Preschool and the construction of their new Outdoor Learning Environment as a part of their new nature-based curriculum. Envisioned as an outdoor space to help nurture children’s creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, our team designed and constructed three structures – a natural playhouse, miniature gazebo and natural library. The natural playhouse includes a mud kitchen – at the request of one three-year-old student wanting to “play house, cook and have my own restaurant outside” – complete with a pretend-play sink, stove and oven. All structures feature cedar roofs, were built with pressure-treated wood and are anchored to the ground utilizing concrete footers. Trace Ventures team members Adam Wayne, Chris Feddler and Travis Weddington oversaw the project.
