A Brilliant (& Beautiful) Home Office

Working from home during these unprecedented times and need to enhance your space? Here is one Trace project that just might inspire you. From capturing an unused attic to designing a multi-purpose room that actually works, Trace has been fortunate enough to produce several effective home office creations. Today we’re excited to share one of our favorites.

This dedicated home office in Nashville is replete with features designed and built for comfort, productivity and style. At 70 square feet, it tucks into a 7’ x 10’ area and exemplifies how a guest room, alcove or garage can be transformed into a seriously functional space.

But if you don’t have that much room, this layout can be easily scaled down to just the desk with built-ins behind for a most productive environment.

As it is though, this work-from-home office has it all. Its minimal style highlights lux materials such as the custom leather-topped desk, high-gloss eucalyptus built-ins and textured wall coverings. We recessed a 65-inch TV above a cabinet tailored for internal drawers and hidden storage solutions.

To the side, we built a compact bar with a Miele coffee machine, 24-inch refrigerator and a pull-out drawer for bottles – all easily accessed without having to venture out to the kitchen to who knows what family entanglements, oops, we meant enticements, might await!

When it comes to workspace, the old architecture adage that form follows function certainly holds true. We also happen to believe style and craftsmanship can calm and soothe, which in turn influences individual productivity and function.
